 Pingles Leisure Centre

Pingles by night

In April 2000 Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council were awarded a £2,900,000 lottery award to construct a £7,000,000 leisure centre to replace the existing Pingles Leisure Centre.

The lottery award was given to support the design and construction of a regional level 8-lane 25metre Competition Pool with electronic timing to enhance the sporting facilities within Nuneaton and the East Midlands.

In November 2003 the old Pingles was raised to the ground to provide the landscaped car parking with the final completion of the project in early 2004.

Since it’s opening in August 2003 it has enjoyed around 38,500 visitors a month.

The Architects for the Project were Faulknerbrowns, one of the leadings architects in the design of Leisure Facilities in the UK.  Two of their most prestigious designs include Ponds Forge in Sheffield built for the Student Commonwealth games and the Commonwealth Pool in Manchester built for the commonwealth games in 2002.

The Main Building Contractor for the project was Willmott Dixon whose area office is based in Coleshill Birmingham.  They also have experience in the building of Leisure facilities, which include Aquavale Leisure Centre in Aylesbury and Thane Leisure Centre.

As part of the Leisure Park in Nuneaton the Pingles Leisure Centre stands as the Jewel in the Crown of the leisure facilities in Nuneaton and Bedworth.

The Pingles Leisure Centre offers the following facilities.
